In the fall of 2009 I traveled to the U.S. Naval Base at Guantanamo Bay with host Jack Rice to produce a series of radio broadcasts, as well as multimedia content for the web. The first set of photos below is from inside the detention camps. The second, entitled “Gitmo: Wish You Were Here,” looks at the base as the tropical destination that it is to many in the military and their families, and includes photos from the Gitmo gift shop, a pretty surreal place to say the least. A portion of my gift shop photos were featured in Vanity Fair, and a satirical gift shop video I shot and edited is here. I hope to expand my photography portfolio in the future.
